Black & White
Drawing in black and white silhouette is my absolute favourite way of working. I just love the striking contrast within silhouette illustration. I find it incredibly satisfying trying to layer up the many narrative and decorative elements that I’d like to include in an illustration, in a way that overlaps carefully, without merging into one unreadable shadow.
I’m particularly inspired to create artwork with elements of nature, architecture and character design.
I’m inspired by papercutting and traditional fairy tales and enjoy solving things visually in a monochrome way. I adore trying to hide small details within an overall design, encouraging the viewer to see something new each time.
